With temps here in the mid 90's combined with high humidity - of course we had to have a power outage! I've spent the last four hours without electric and got to test out more prep supplies.

Several years ago I purchased a battery operated Coleman fan/light combo. Just a few weeks ago I picked up a second battery operated fan at Walmart by a company called O2 COOL Today I got to see how well they work.

The O2 COOL was the hands down winner. While both fans are the same size - and both require D batteries, the O2 COOL fan design made it more efficient and more powerful than the Coleman one.

The Coleman fan had to be within 12" for us to feel a breeze. The O2 COOL put out air felt 4' away. It also has multiple power sources (internal rechargable batteries, (4) D cells for when the recharagables give out, car adapter and a/c adapter.

I plan on purchasing two more on the next trip to Walmart.

Battery Operated Fans

We have 2 of the small battery fans from Walley World and have used them on camping trips with good sucess . Angel bought me a bigger battery fan from Walley World and it puts out a LOT of air . I had got a 12 volt jump start that had a cig. lighter adapter and run it that way, but the cheap jump starter died
They are well worth the money . But remember in an emergency situation you will either have a lot of batteries or use them spairingly.
