US Department of Defense: Pandemic Flu Watchboard

In an influenza pandemic, the DoD's mission is to preserve the U.S. combat capabilities and readiness and to support U.S. government efforts to save lives, reduce human suffering and slow the spread of infection.
We have created this site to provide:
- Information about avian and pandemic flu, including recent outbreaks
- Department of Defense involvement in dealing with avian and pandemic flu, and
- How it could affect service member and civilian health.

- Provides frequently asked questions on avian and pandemic influenza
- Provides resources for preparing for a pandemic flu outbreak and brochures available for downloading.
Health Care Planners and Providers Section
- Provides essential guidelines, resources, and surveillance and detection data.

- Provides links to testimonies, speeches, briefs by DoD Leadership and sites on the Pandemic Influenza Initiative
