Be careful with canned tomatoes. If there's a bulge in the can or a "pop" when you open the can don't use them. (Source Unknown)

How do I determine the expiration date?

Before we can decide the expiration date, we must first determine the production date. Please submit the numbers from the end of the can or side of the bottle or jar to Contact Us, so that we may help you. However, most of our products carry a "best used by date".

Is it safe to use tomato products if the can is bulging or swollen?

Never open or use a can that is bulging or swollen.

What is the shelf life of canned tomato products after they have been opened?

We recommend that you store canned tomato products and juices in a sealed plastic or glass container, for no more than 7 days in the refrigerator.

What is the shelf life of unopened canned tomato products?

Plastic Juice Bottles - We recommend a 18 month shelf life
Plastic Ketchup Bottles - We recommend a 14 month shelf life
Ketchup Packets (9g) - We recommend a 9 month shelf life
5.5oz Juice Cans - We recommend a 12 month shelf life
6oz and 8oz cans - We recommend a 24 month shelf life (2 years)
14.5oz cans and larger - We recommend a 30 month shelf life (2 1/2 years)
All glass containers - We recommend a 30 month shelf life

Please keep in mind that processed tomato products do not have the rigid shelf life of other perishable foods. They do not go “bad” on their expiration date, but the freshness may be compromised.
