Image I ran out of regular milk and was waiting til the weekend to restock. So I decided to try using one of my powdered milk supplies. A real emergency is not a good time to be testing unfamiliar food items or supplies, since you cannot afford to waste time or resources at that point.

This brand is a whole milk product. I followed the instructions and mixed the powder with water and tried out the finished product.

Image I decided to find out once and for all which powdered milk my family likes best. I didn't realize how important this was until we started living off food storage. I thought (naively) that if there was nothing else to drink, they would drink it. Wrong. Before we started food storage, my family was drinking 5 gallons of milk a week. After a comment about the flavor of powdered milk on another post, I hatched a plan to have folks try a bunch of different kinds of powdered milks to maybe find one that tasted good so this reader and anyone else who wants to know (including me) will know which brands would be best to buy because you know powdered milk is not cheap. I had some super help with this milk experiment from Emergency Essentials, Grandma's Country Foods, Walton Feed, Blue Chip Group (now Augason Farms), and Honeyville Grain who all donated some of their milk for the review. Remember when we tasted the powdered milks? Yeah, it seems like a long time ago. Well, we also tasted two kinds of chocolate powdered milks--Honeyville and Morning Moos.
